The Shape of Things Exhibition
Exhibition
The Shape of Things is a collaborative exhibition brought to you by Bakers @70 gallery and Awen Studio.
The artist call-out asked what The Shape of Things means - through paint, mark, and material; through the literal and the figurative, the outward and the inward. The works submitted draw from the detritus of modern life, the surfaces around us, and the depths of the self. Dystopias and brighter futures sit side by side; dynamic movement, the 'thingness' of objects, and the sacred hiding in the ordinary all find their place.
The exhibition brings together a wonderfully varied community of makers, both children and adults, first-time creators and seasoned artists all working across an equally broad range of forms, from jewellery and textiles to paintings, sculptures, and lamps. From the virtual to the actual, these artists have made their choice, come and see what they found.
