Go! Go! Go!

This ancient game — known to the Chinese as Weiqi, Go in Japanese, Baduk in Korean — is the world’s oldest, continuously‑played board game, the rules of which have remained relatively unchanged for over 3000 years. From the simplest of rules emerges a game of astonishing complexity, the mastery of which ultimately requires both hard-earned strategy and intuitive confidence in new and complex tactical situations.

• Pure Strategy, No Luck - Each stone is modest on its own, yet together form powerful, interlocking patterns. Bravery is rewarded but greed is punished and turns every decision into a meaningful statement. 

• A Living Tradition - Go is at once ancient and modern, with thousands of years of history and millions of players worldwide. There are more permutations of a full size 19x19 Go board than there are atoms in the observable universe and it is because of this innate complexity that the game inspired the invention of the QR code and has been Instrumental to the development of artificial general intelligence.

What to Expect in Every Session

1. Introductory Overview - A concise, engaging presentation of Go’s rules, history, and core concepts. 

2. Tsumego Training - Solve “life‑and‑death” puzzles (the Go equivalent of chess problems) to develop reading skills and pattern recognition. 

3. Play Time – Pair up and run multiple games simultaneously, applying what you’ve learned while receiving friendly feedback.

Whether you’re new to abstract games or a seasoned strategist, our club offers a supportive environment to deepen your understanding and connect with like‑minded players.
